If diamonds were red...that is what the brilliant red color of this incredible 2016 Garnacha would be! Beautiful aromas of homemade strawberry jam, apple peel and orange zest mix   together with hints of clove and vanilla bean. It is intense, structured and juicy with a non-linear, full-mouthfeel experience that doesn’t disappoint. Mouth watering flavors of cranberry, strawberry Life Savers, lychee and bittersweet chocolate are followed up by a hint of rose petal. This wine has medium tannins, an unctuous mouthfeel and a long finish.  Liz suggests pairing this with cherry glazed baby back ribs.

This is the first vintage in many years that we have highlighted Liberty Oaks Vineyard as a vineyard designated wine. It proves, once again, why Tempranillo is king of the Spanish reds! Incredible dark fruit aromas of black cherry, blackberry and dark chocolate, end with a tangy hints of dried cranberries and nutmeg. Rich, luscious, juicy dark fruit flavors of blackberry syrup and chocolate covered cherries finish with a lingering notes of mulling spices, cinnamon, and clove. It is weighty and mature with dusty tannins. This wine is drinkable now and will continue to mature and evolve in the bottle for many years. Liz suggests pairing this wine with venison or duck with a cherry red wine reduction sauce.

This is the very first vintage we have featured Terra Alta Vineyard Graciano with a vineyard designation! The violet-blue hue is the first signal that something special awaits in the glass. The aromas hit the nose in full force with forest fruit, blackberry pie, blueberry syrup and black licorice. Flavors of dark Bing cherry, vanilla bean, blueberry and sundried apricots   linger in the mouth. Juicy sweet with a velvet finish, this wine will continue to age beautifully which is why it is often used in the blends of the Rioja region of Spain. Liz suggests pairing this wine with roasted leg of lamb with garlic and rosemary.

This is the first vintage of Monastrell from our Sheldon Hills Vineyard and the change is  note worthy!  The terroir is Redding Gravelly Clay Loam and the Sloughhouse AVA gets warmer evenings which create a bigger, bolder Monastrell. This wine is super dark and full of earthy aromas, oiled leather and white pepper. It has gripping tannins with a full bodied    texture ending with a bright acidity. Flavors of ripe fresh blackberry, Santa Rosa plum, and chocolate covered coffee beans end with hints of licorice. Liz suggests you pair this wine with    espresso rubbed filet mignon and wild mushroom sauce.
